As we look at the life of Jesus in the gospels, it becomes pretty clear that He was not one to turn down a good party. In fact, we read that He frequently used these gatherings to create shared tables for people of diverse backgrounds and experience to connect. Throughout this series we will look at some of these parties we see in the gospels and see what we can take away about living a life on mission.

Missional Disruption (07-03-2021)

In addition to longer days and rising temperatures, summer brings with it several seasonal shifts in our routines and attitudes. This week we take a look at how we can either take advantage of those changing currents or fight against them as we attempt to live out the missionary calling God has placed on our lives. As our example, we turn to Jesus and how he loved a good party!

Subverted Expectations (07-17-2021)

When we look at the life of Jesus in the gospels, one of the significant aspects that tends to go unappreciated in our modern culture was his willingness to “party” with both the tax collector and the Pharisee. Just as revolutionary as Jesus’s teaching and miracles were his dining practices! This week we take a look at a parable Jesus told about limiting the Kingdom of God to a certain type of person.

Why Is The Wine Gone? (08-07-2021)

This week we take a look at how Jesus actively engages in community, erases shame, and challenges us to move beyond discomfort into loving our neighbors.

Transformational Love (09-04-2021)

As we close out our Party Jesus series, we take a look at the impact that having an encounter with Jesus could have in someone’s life. There is something about the love that Jesus offers that transforms people’s lives and we believe it still has the power to do so today!
